Tater Tot Designs recently hosted iUrban Teen, a nationally recognized program focused on STEM+Arts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, +Arts) education. The program takes teens, ages 13 to 18, on interactive summit industry tours throughout the area.

During their day at Tater Tot Designs, teen participants were engaged with our “Design the Internet of Things” program. We worked together with the teens and challenged them to design an IoT product of their own.

The teens came up with numerous innovative ideas including: a smart couch, a smart mailbox, and smart physical grocery cart. After some deliberation, they chose to focus on connected smart windows and shades for the home. It was a great experience for us here at Tater Tot Designs, working together to create a collaborative learning and working environment as a model for these teens to add to their educational tool boxes.
